Patrick Crayton Wants Out

“To me, you’re messing with people’s careers and people’s lives.  The thing is, you want to be wanted.  So in order to be wanted and felt wanted … why would you go to a place that you’re not feeling that way?  I’m not sure if I’m wanted or not wanted.”

“For those guys to develop, they have to be on the field.  For them to be on the field, I’m not going to be on it, so I would love them to not dangle me around and everything because I have a family to think about.

“If I’m going to be with another team, I need to get used to another city, another franchise, a new coach, a new quarterback, a new coordinator, everything.  Just a whole new environment.  My wife and kids got to get settled in, got to get in schools and everything.  I would love to have the opportunity to compete with another team versus come here and come here for a numbers thing where they’re like, ‘Oh, we’re not going to pay you that to be our fourth or fifth guy,’ or whatever the situation is and you kept me the whole training camp because you need camp bodies.”

“It’d be an uncomfortable situation having guys play in front of you when you know that you’re just as good as them.  But it’s one of those situations, man. At the end of the day, I don’t think that’s going to happen.”

Jerry Jones responded with, “I don’t have any issue with how he’s doing.  He’s one of the hardest workers we’ve got.  Things have a way of working out.  I’m not for sure where it will end up here, but it has a way of working out.”

To make matters worse the Cowboys were shopping Crayton during draft weekend and he didn’t find out about till other teams told his agent.  “It was behind my back.  I just felt kind of betrayed in a way.  But that’s the business.”  Some more words from Patrick Crayton.

Fantasy Football players remember Crayton is a stud number 2 or number 3 wide receiver.   I feel if the Cowboys do the smart thing and keep him as their number 3/4 wide reciever he will still put up similar numbers to last year.  But if you want to see his numbers go up he would have to go to another good team with a strong quarterback and be the number 2 wide receiver.
