Hasheem Thabeet send down to D-League

Two weeks after getting offered with OJ Mayo for Monta Ellis, Thabeet is going to the D-League, the NBA’s farm system.  He is the highest pick ever to get sent down.  He was drafted 2nd in the NBA draft back in June.  I sure hope the Memphis Grizzlies aren’t giving up on him so soon.

7-3, 267 pound shot blocking machines don’t grow on trees.  It really doesn’t matter if the man can score or not he plays defense like there is no tomorrow.  He might only play 10 minutes a game but he still averages 2.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and a whooping 1.2 blocks.  Think about that, 1.2 blocks in 10 minutes.

If you give this guy 40 minutes he might not average 4.8 blocks (pro-rating) but he will give you a good defensive presence and 3-4 blocks.  You keep guys like that and most importantly for all you Fantasy Basketball players out there, you draft guys like that.  For keeper leagues trade some pennies and get a dollar in Thabeet now.  Talk about buying low.
